Here is the progress to date. The front of the wall is completely finished, so that will be how high it will all be. Some work was done this week, not as much as we would have liked, but at least they are there! This has only been 2 guys working laying block. Jason, one of our General Contractors and his brother. His brother mixes the concrete and Jason lays the block. The one day his brother had to be taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion. Apparently the rest of his guys were finishing up another place, so he told David it should go faster now because more guys should be there from that job to do ours. Friday they ran out of block early afternoon and they didn't get more there until 4:00pm that evening. So, hopefully they pick it up tomorrow. Oh my word, while we were there today taking pictures and video, I tried to pick up a cinder block. I could barely lift it! David thought that was funny! I must be weak!! :) They are alot heavier than I thought they were!! Of course he picked it up like it was nothing. Show off!
Our new neighbors moved in the old farmhouse. Looks like that could be quite interesting. We may be putting up a privacy fence before a deck!! Hopefully it will work out. We're praying it does. It's always nice when you have good relationships with the neighbors. I won't go into detail a whole lot but let's just say besides other things, they have yet to mow their grass. They have been living there for over three weeks now. Dad S. mows our grass almost every week, and we don't even live there, let alone even have a house up yet!!! So, hopefully they work out or move out one of the to!!!
As you can see we will have quite a nice backyard. Pretty flat, except where they do the sand mound. There will be a small hump from that. We actually have 1.23 acres. And it's alot bigger than I originally thought. Once you see things taking shape you can picture things better. To bad we will have to rip the grass back there up. It's pretty nice, and not many weeds!
David was asked by his work if he wanted to do split shift between 2nd and 3rd coming up soon for approx. 3 weeks. To go to a school about an hour away to work rate work, which is nice, and also work 4, - 10hr shifts, so it will give him off Fridays so he can work on the house!! Win-win for everyone!!
That's it for now, We'll keep ya posted!!!! :)
