Fall Doins'

 Carving a pumpkin for Kaylynn for the first time.
 I thought he was gonna chop off his fingers with that knife!
 She was not to sure about it.
 (Don't mind the sharpie black marks around her pumpkins teeth. Mommy wasn't using her brain when she drew the face on. Removed the marks with goo be gone after we were done.)
 What is that stuff Mommy??

 Forcing her hand down into it.

 Didn't like it, or being forced to touch it either. Ha!!!  I have always liked carving and scooping out the goop.  I think this picture is hilarious!!!
 All done! Its smile is a little redneck-ish, but that's alright. Hee, hee.
 I took these when it was getting dark, but here are my mums and pumpkins for Fall.

Jack O Lantern all lit up!!

Rough Go Of It

Mom has had a fever ever since she's been back at the hospital.  She gets 3 hour doses of chemo every 12 hours.  This time around things are very different.  She is very sick.  She isn't really eating  much of anything, if anything for that matter.  My Dad is on his way home and my Aunt Gina went out to stay.  My sister Tonya had rode along and she said she was there for about an hour and a half and she said Mom didn't really talk the whole time.
I feel awful.  I guess since the last round was 24 hrs a day for 7 days straight and she didn't get sick that this would be easy and she would be fine.  Wrong.  The Doctor also said he wants her to have chemo every 28 days, but not sure how long the treatments will be or how long that will go on.
Please, please keep the prayers coming!!

Back to Hershey

Please pray for my Mom as she heads back to Hershey tomorrow.  She will be receiving round 2 of chemo.  12 hours on and 12 hours off for 5 days. After that we don't know what happens next or how long she has to stay there.  We are all hoping she can come home to do follow up care.  So please pray for traveling mercies for my Mom and Dad, for the chemo to go well, and that she can have follow up care here at home.
Kaylynn and I spent the whole day with her and my niece Brooke today.  Had a good time. Wish this could all be over for her and we can get back to normal, everyday living. Thanks friends!!

Hives, Fever, Bleck!!

Friday Kaylynn was sick.  When I picked her up from the sitter's she had fever and was shivering.  Great. I wanted to take her to see my Mom.  Well, the night didn't get any better.  She was up every 15 mins when we first laid her down.  Then again at 9, 10, 11, 1am, 3am.  She still had a fever of about 102.  When she got up a little after 8am she had 2 hives on her legs.  Well, as breakfast progressed they were then on her arms and they were spreading! They get really red an they look like bug bites or welts.  So I called the Doc and they got her in at 9:45am.  She was covered in them by the time we got there.  She also had been messing with her right ear.  So, she said it wasn't an infection, but the right one was red.  Great.  She just got tubes in her ears on Sept 20th! And the fever thing was probably viral.  So Benadryl for the hives.  Ibuprofen for the fever.  And Ciprodex ear drops for her ear.  Poor kid.  So when we got home we held her down and did all of the above. She then laid down for a nap.  She thankfully slept all night and today seems back to herself other than not eating to well.  Which I chalk up to her cutting her eye teeth on the bottom.  Last time she got fever like that she got hives.  The Doc said she might be one of those who gets hives every time she gets a fever that lasts awhile.

I tried to take pics on my phone.  It looked way worse in person! :(

Sweet Kaylynn

 Yes. Yes I CAN get the powder open Mommy!!
 Coloring Grammy a picture.
 Kaylynn and her friend Brielle at the sitter's.  Kaylynn LOVES to sit at the piano and play.  She doesn't bang on it either. I so hope she will be interested later and she learns to play.  We tell her how Grandma Slagenweit used to play. She would be so proud of her little gal.
 Do I have Oreo on my face Mommy??
I let her stand only to take this.  Now she thinks she can do it all the time.

~~~
She does so many new things.  She even helps us unload the dishwasher, set the table, and help put clothes in the dryer.  She plays with babies and burps them and gives them bottles. It is the cutest thing ever!!! She says baby, here, there, Momma, Dada, Hi, bye.  All of course hen she wants to.  She waves, blows kisses, gives kisses, gives hugs.  She loves to read and look at books.  Loves to play.  If we ask her if she's ready to eat or have a snack she goes and pulls her chair out.  If we ask if she's ready for bath/bed, she will go to the steps.  She also like to re-arrange Mommy's cupboards.  I never know what I am gonna find in them.  But I let her do it.  Your only little once.  She likes to hug the baby at the sitter's, Riley.  She is very sweet and lovable.  She's getting sooooo  big!
Mom Is Home!!
Mom had her bone marrow test and talked to her Doc Thurs.  He said she can come home for a week.  Then come back to Hershey for another round of chemo.  This time it will be 12 hours on and then 12 hours off.  Then he wants her to stay at the Hope Lodge for 4 weeks after that to do follow up blood work every other day.  She talked to the nurse and said it's just to hard to have a caregiver there to stay at the Hope Lodge with her.  Everyone works.  She said she understood and she would talk to the Doctor about it.  That she would try to see if the follow up blood work can be done here at home.  Which, that's all she's been having done the last few weeks at Hershey.  I know her Doc at Williamsport said she could have follow up care/blood transfusions up here before she went to Hershey, so not sure why that couldn't happen.  Hopefully it will work out!! You re-coop so much better at home, I think anyway.  So, they are also still talking to her about stem cell transplant so not really sure what they are gonna do next.  Boy, you think ok, it's in remission it's done.  So not the case.  :(  It is with god's strength and grace that we are getting through this.  Keep the prayers coming! She has to go back Thurs. morning. Thanks!
Praise The Lord!!!!
Today my Mom had blood work at 10:30am.  Bone marrow test at 12:30pm, then had an appt with her Doctor.  Well, she still didn't need any transfusions.   I believe the one number that needs to be between 1 and 4 is her CBC, and Last Thursday it was still an unreadable number, then Sunday it was .26 and today it was .61. So it's slowly coming up!!  No results from the bone marrow test, probably tomorrow, but they LET HER COME HOME!!!! She is on her way right now.  They didn't have to tell her twice! :)  I haven't talked to her much, but here is what I got from her.  They are letting her come home for one week, then back to Hershey for more chemo, I believe this round will be 5 days instead of 7.  Then he wants her to stay at the Hope Lodge for 4 weeks to get blood work done every other day.  My Mom told the nurse it's to hard to have a caregiver when everyone works, couldn't she do the follow up blood work up here?  The nurse said the Doc is new and she would talk to him.  She understands and if it were her she wouldn't have anybody either to help her.  So hopefully tomorrow the results of the bone marrow are still showing remission. But at least for now she can enjoy being home for a week at least! She hasn't been home since Sept 4th!  I am so grateful to God for getting us through this, one thing at a time, one day at a time.  All the praise and thanks go to HIM!!!
Needing More Prayer
Thank you to all that have been praying and asking about my Mom.  Things have been going okay.  She goes to outpatient at the hospital every other day.  Her blood counts have gotten better every time.  She hasn't had a blood or platelet transfusion since LAST Thurs.  And by Sunday her platelet count had doubled and her CBC had been unreadable was then a .26.  So it's coming up. That is supposed to be between 1 through 4.  Although the Hope Lodge is VERY nice.  It is also boring and especially since they aren't really doing much of anything it's very frustrating that she just can't come home and have that kind of stuff done.  And, her appetite is slowly getting better.  She had appt's today, but didn't need anything.  Thurs. she has blood work, bone marrow test and then talking to her Doctor's.  Praying that the bone marrow still shows it in remission!! So, please continue to pray for her and our family.  I will try to keep everyone updated! God hears us!!! Thanks!!!
